Straight from the Lungs

Straight from the Lungs launches on 11th September 2018, helping to share real stories from real people affected by Cystic Fibrosis. Listen to a sneak peek to meet some of the people featured in the podcast.

Over the next 14 episodes, I’m going to be exploring the complex world of Cystic Fibrosis, from the initial diagnosis and treatment of it, to going to school, getting a job, and even falling in love. You’ll hear from the experts of CF: the people living with it everyday and their friends and family, as well as the people who dedicate their lives to researching it and treating it. It’s not always going to be pretty, but it will give you a chance to meet some amazing people living extraordinary lives. Before all of that though, what even is Cystic Fibrosis?

On 11th September 2018, I launched Straight from the Lungs live at the UK Cystic Fibrosis Conference. As part of the launch, I answered questions submitted by people online, drawing from my own experience of CF and those of some of the guests I’ve interviewed for the podcast. Here are all of the questions I responded to on stage along with a few others I was sent as well.

The Cystic Fibrosis journey starts when you receive the diagnosis. The news is usually give to parents of babies or young children, and while it may seem like the end of something beautiful, in fact, it’s only the beginning.
